April Showers Rain on Jack Smith's Lawfare Parade
Julie Kelly, Substack
What appears to be the likeliest outcome, rather than issue a clean opinion, w the court will kick the question back to either Chutkan or the appellate court (at least two justices including Chief Justice John Roberts were unimpressed with the appellate panel’s hasty decision) to identify which allegations in Smith’s indictment might represent “core functions” and which allegations fall under the category of personal or private conduct. That process will add at least a few months to a calendar already ticking down to the election.

Stop Complaining About Your Opportunities, Republicans. Take Advantage of Biden’s Failures.
Scott McKay, The American Spectator
I could write a whole book about the oodles of golden opportunities for political annihilation the Democrats have presented. We have lots of internecine fights on the right over which we can tear each other apart. Let’s have those next year, after we’ve taken power and begun experimenting with how to finally use it effectively. The most important job now — in fact, the only job now — is to recognize and appreciate the gifts the Left is giving. Stop looking at this as the end of the world. Start looking at it as the end of their world.

A Harvard Ghost Story
Daniel Oliver, American Greatness
In Gay’s view, “education” seems to be about connecting “to the world by centering the most pressing challenges that the world faces as university priorities." Gay may be gone from the presidency, but her ghost still roams the halls of America’s once most prestigious college, where last year dozens of student groups signed a letter from the Harvard College Palestine Solidarity Committee blaming Hamas’s October 7 attack on the Israeli people, calling them an “apartheid regime,” and where, now, students fly the Palestinian flag.

‘Unacceptable’: Trump Campaign Slams Commission’s Refusal to Hold Earlier Debates
Caden Pearson, The Epoch Times
In a statement, former President Donald Trump’s campaign representatives Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles intensified criticism of the body that sponsors all general election presidential debates. Previously, they had requested debates to be held “much earlier” than the commission’s planned first debate in mid-September. The Trump campaign repeated its argument that voters deserve to hear from both candidates before they begin casting their votes, calling it “unacceptable” and a “grave disservice” to the electorate.

Trump Leads Biden in Seven Swing States Including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona: Poll
Tom Pappert, The Star News Network
Donald Trump has now pulled ahead of Joe Biden in seven battleground states, including Pennsylvania. Pollsters found Trump beat Biden by 2 percent in Pennsylvania. The former president garnered the support of 47 compared to Biden’s 45 percent. Eight percent of Pennsylvania respondents were undecided. The New Emerson College Polling survey found Trump is also ahead of Biden in Arizona and Georgia, where data showed the former president would beat Biden by 4 percent and 3 percent, respectively, if the election were held today.

The ‘Biden bump’ that didn’t last long
Byron York, Washington Examiner
RealClearPolitics analyst Sean Trende: “Polls are just snapshots in time. The problem is that the political science literature is pretty consistent that this is the time when the electorate’s views about the election start to harden, particularly with respect to the economy.” So public opinion can be volatile, but after a while, it is not. And remember that where the economy is concerned, voters believe Biden has done a terrible job. Put it all together, and there are also lots of reasons for Joe Biden to be worried.

Vance: Never-Trumpers Ignore the Reality of Trump’s Success as President
American Greatness Staff
Vance pointed out that he, like many others, was wrong about what kind of president Trump would be and that the U.S. did enjoy a growing economy and mostly peaceful world during Trump’s term. Vance explained that the results of Trump’s policies were low inflation, rising wages and greater geopolitical stability. In today’s polarized political climate, the idea that a person might change his or her thinking is not treated as an honest reaction to encountering new truth but rather as a cynical ploy done purely for political advantage.
