The Democrat Crime Wave Is On The Ballot

In all this year’s close elections one of the defining issues is the Democrat candidate’s history of advocating defunding the police and going soft on crime and criminals.

And they are finally being called to account.

In Arizona, Secretary of State and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Katie Hobbs is backed by, and recently campaigned alongside, a far-left advocacy group that wants to defund the police and abolish the border patrol.

FOX News reported Hobbs attended a campaign rally this past weekend alongside Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), a progressive group that endorsed Hobbs and has repeatedly called for defunding police and abolishing U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

LUCHA has attended Phoenix defund police rallies and, on several occasions, has called to strip law enforcement of their budgets, FOX reported.

"Phoenix has one of the deadliest police forces," the group tweeted in 2020. "They do not protect the community. Phx needs to defund police and invest in programs that create healthy communities."

"In the midst of the Black Lives Matter protest... there is a growing awareness in the immigrant and Latino communities that calls to defund police also can apply to law enforcement resources used for separating children from parents, detaining and deporting," they said that same year, according to reporting by FOX’s Joe Schoffstall.

The Star News Network reported Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake and the Arizona Police Association (APA) have been hammering Democrat Hobbs after they received radio silence from her since the association sent her a letter demanding she denounce her allies’ support for defunding the police.

“Arizona voters are finally seeing who Katie Hobbs really is – a radical BLM activist who signs pledges denouncing law enforcement and fraternizes with dangerous ‘defund the police’ activists on the Left. Maybe that’s why she’s so afraid to share a debate stage with me, because she’ll be forced to defend her extreme anti-public safety positions,” Lake said in a press release.

In New York’s closely contested gubernatorial campaign the one and only debate between limited government constitutional conservative Congressman Lee Zeldin and “woke” incumbent Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul was almost entirely about the crime wave engulfing New York – even though Hochul did her best to deflect to issues – like climate change – that don’t even register in 2022 election issue polls.

Gov. Hochul stunningly said she didn’t know why it’s “so important” to lock up criminals when confronted by Republican challenger Lee Zeldin over the state’s failed bail “reform” law that ended cash bail for most crimes.

Zeldin, who’s pledged to declare a crime emergency and suspend cashless bail if elected, brought up the issue and Hochul blew the answer by telling the television audience what she really believed.

“My opponent thinks that right now there’s a polio emergency going on but there’s not a crime emergency — different priorities than I’m hearing from people right now,” the outgoing congressman from Long Island said.

“I don’t know why that’s so important to you,” the incumbent Democrat Governor exclaimed.

Zeldin focused on surging crime, saying, “I am running to take back our streets and to support unapologetically our men and women in law enforcement” and reiterating his pledge to remove Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg from office over his soft-on-crime policies.

A Governor who doesn’t know why locking up criminals is important – especially violent predators such as murders, rapists, those who push people onto subway tracks and other violent assaults – doesn’t deserve to remain Governor.

Republican polling company co/efficient says its latest survey showed the race was a dead heat, with Zeldin holding a razor-thin edge over Hochul, 45.6% to 45.3%.

We urge CHQ readers and friends to put the pedal to the metal and keep reminding voters that the crime wave sweeping America lands squarely at the feet of Democrats and their policies of defunding the police and coddling criminals with cashless bail and the catch and release of illegal aliens.
