When Will Anheuser-Busch Shareholders Say Enough Is Enough?

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

In a recent interview with CBS Mornings Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth declined to say if he would allow Bud Light’s disastrous promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to happen again.

Fox News reported Bud Light sales have plummeted since the beermaker gifted Mulvaney special cans in April to celebrate a full year of "girlhood," which the influencer quickly claimed were her "most prized possession" on Instagram with a post that featured "#budlightpartner." A second video then featured Mulvaney in a bathtub drinking a Bud Light beer as part of the campaign — and the company has been mocked and boycotted ever since.

"We have to understand the impact that it’s had… it’s the impact on our employees, the impact on our consumers, and as well the impact on our partners," he said. "One thing I'd love to make extremely clear is that impact is my responsibility and as the CEO, everything we do here I'm accountable for."

The CBS morning show hosts pointed out that the non-answer is exactly why Bud Light continues to take heat from both sides, as the LGBTQ community would want him to stand by the initial decision but critics want him to admit it was a mistake to celebrate a biological male’s first year of "girlhood."

"Bud Light has supported LGBTQ since 1998, so that’s 25 years, and as we’ve said from the beginning, we’ll continue to support the communities and organizations that we’ve supported for decades," Whitworth said. "But as we move forward, we want to focus on what we do best, which is brewing great beer for everyone, listening to our consumers, being humble in listening to them and making sure we do right by our employees."

Whitworth was then pressed on where he stands regarding "queer rights" and it was noted that Bud Light has featured rainbow bottles in the past, but also has donated to conservative politicians.

Contributions to “conservative” politicians be damned. It has gotten so bad for Bud Light that the company is buying back expired beer – unheard of for what used to be America’s #1 beer brand – and local Bud Light distributors are running ads distancing themselves from the national brand’s marketing decisions.

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth might want to take a look at a recent Rasmussen Reports survey that shed some harsh light on why customers have quickly abandoned brands that have closely associated themselves with transgender ideology.

By a 3-to-1 margin, Americans believe there are only two genders, and a majority support laws against transgender treatment for minors.

As we have observed on a number of occasions many American corporations are no longer businesses in the sense that their purpose is to maximize shareholder profit and value. Rather, they have become Far Left political operations masquerading as businesses.

Bud Light’s market share has dropped by at least 25% and Bud Light kiosks at major sporting events are ghost towns. According to reporting by the UK’s Daily Mail (American establishment media being predicably silent on the matter) amid the backlash, AB's market capitalization has dropped nearly $6 billion since the firestorm over the Mulvaney ads broke, a decline of nearly 5 percent, however the company continues to sponsor “pride” events and the Mulvaney partnership.

Translation: Screw you shareholders, this is a political operation not a profit-making, dividend-paying enterprise.

We normal Americans who invest our savings in corporate stocks have a message for Mr. Whitworth - Dylan Mulvaney is not a woman, and plastering his face all over our product and advertising isn’t going to grow the market share of OUR COMPANY or encourage others invest in the company for which you work.

You can contact Anheuser-Busch through this link or call the corporate headquarters at 1-800-342-5283, or better yet call your local Anheuser-Busch distributor, here’s a link to the list of distributors – find the distributor in your area, call them and tell them you are sick of Far Left corporate liberals undermining traditional values and in response to their decision to spread transgender poison you demand new management at Anheuser-Busch that will focus on growing market share and shareholder value, rather than spending shareholder funds promoting Marxist transgender ideology.
