The Great Eight Or The Hateful Eight? By George Rasley, CHQ Editor To us the eight Republican House Members who voted to vacate the chair are “the great eight.” We urge House conservatives to unite around a “keep our word” candidate for Speaker, who will follow through and actually fight for the conservative issues Republicans run on, but under Kevin McCarthy could never quite get around to legislating on. |

How About Rep. Byron Donalds For Speaker? By George Rasley, CHQ EditorRep. Byron Donalds is not part of the Swamp, as is Steve Scalise, and he’s never made compromises with the Swamp, as has Jim Jordan, otherwise good man that he is. To our way of thinking Rep. Byron Donalds is the only real change agent among those whose name has been floated and he’s the right person to unify the fractious GOP Conference behind a “keep our promises” agenda. |
Tom DeWeese: How To Take Back America Starting At The Local Level By Tom DeWeese, President of the American Policy CenterOne of the main issues that our side must face is that we don’t really like government. We just want to be left alone. Many especially don’t like getting involved in local government. Consequently, we’re not there when decisions are made. As a result, those of us who don’t really like government have gotten more government! |

Our Establishment’s Alternate Realities
Victor Davis Hanson, American Greatness One common denominator that explains why previously successful societies implode is their descent into fantasies. A collective denial prevents even discussion of existential threats and their solutions. Yet neither state nor local officials nor Joe Biden himself, nor Democrats in Congress even admits to a crime wave. The more the public is attacked and avoids major downtowns, the more it polls furor over the crime wave. Despite our epidemic of fantasy, there remains reality. And we will soon rediscover it all too soon. |
What Happened to Trevor Bauer Matters. This Can’t Go On.
Scott McKay, The American Spectator It’s fairly obvious that the Left, and the people in charge of maintaining its cultural hegemony by use of those corporate media organs they control, is bent on preventing the formation of families, not fostering them — because single women vote for Democrats by 37 percent more than they vote for Republicans. So there is immense electoral advantage in building a cultural barrier to marriage and family. Marriage and family perpetuate the patriarchy, after all. How exactly do we get men and women together to form families? |
No mas: Biden admin. admits ‘immediate’ need for Texas border wall amid massive migrant surge Stephen Dinan, The Washington Times Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Wednesday that the U.S. has an “acute and immediate need” to build border wall in southern Texas, and he issued an order waiving some of the country’s most iconic environmental protection laws to speed up construction. Mr. Mayorkas identified dozens of miles of border where he plans to build barriers and roads and where he indicated that those environmental laws would be a hindrance. Mr. Mayorkas’ waiver covers 26 federal laws; environmental groups were not pleased. |
DeSantis Looking Forward To His Next Debate—With California Governor Newsom Dan M. Berger, The Epoch Times Campaigning in South Carolina on Oct. 4, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis talked up his coming debate. Not the Republican Party's next scheduled presidential debate on Nov. 8 in Miami, but one three weeks later between Mr. DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, moderated by Fox News's Sean Hannity. "You know, [President Joe] Biden may not be their candidate," Mr. DeSantis said of the Democrats. "They may put in a Newsom or some of these other people. We've got to be prepared for that," Mr. DeSantis told a crowd of 125. |
We the People Convention Endorses Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House Kaitlin Housler, The Star News Network We the People Convention (WTPC), an Ohio-based nonprofit that advocates for limited constitutional governance, endorsed Ohio U.S. Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH-04) for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Noting Jordan’s work with the organization over the years, WTPC President Tom Zawistowski said in a statement, “He is, in my opinion, conservative to the core. He loves America with all his heart and he works tirelessly for the people of Ohio and this nation to protect their freedom, liberty and prosperity.” |
You Can Draft This Kurt Schlichter, Townhall To fight a modern war, they are going to need bodies in numbers not needed for generations. They’re not going to fill the ranks with volunteers. They will have to draft them. That kind of move could re-define American politics because you’re going to get a lot of people elected on an isolationist platform at the next election, assuming there is one. I am not an isolationist. I’m a Jacksonian. I believe in fighting when you have to, and then you kill the SOBs. But our foreign policy establishment doesn’t believe that. |
